The South African band The Parlotones returned to Seattle to play The High Dive. While these guys have a pretty unique sound it is more their ability to pack a space. I know these guys are huge in SA and played before 80,000 for the opening ceremonies but I have never seen such a rabid group of fans in small venues before. Not only that but every other person is wearing an SA flag or a Springboks jersey.
They put on a good show and it would be worth giving them a listen. Kahn Morbee has a good stage presence and seems to live a pretty interesting life off stage too. He does own a winery after all.
Here is a previous photo set of The Parlotones.

The Las Vegas based rock band Imagine Dragons were opening for The Parlotones at the High Dive in Seattle last Spring. Imagine Dragons can really put out some good stuff. What struck me most about this band was just how much energy they have. From the time they took the stage until the time they finished it was non-stop. Their song “It’s Time” off the album of the same name has undertones of Tilly and The Wall which is a good thing in my mind. Be sure to keep an ear out for their music and hopefully they will be playing close to you soon.

Once again The Parlotones came through Seattle. These are some amazing South African musicians. And, it is not every day that you get to see a band that played before a crowd of 85,000 for the 2010 World Cup in such an intimate space as the High Dive.
They did not disappoint. This is just a small set of images more will follow either here or at Flotzam.com Stay tuned for further details.
